Literature groups-Readers response

     We read the article "The Face of Freedom" in National Geographic Explorer. It was about the statue of liberty and what it stands for. June 17, 1885 it arrived in New York harbor.The statue of liberty opened in October of 1886 the next year. She is made of copper as thick as 2 pennies. She holds in her left hand a tablet with a date on it. the date is July 4, 1776. That is the birthday of the United States. In her right hand she holds a flame. It is the light of freedom. She wears a big crown that has seven rays. Those rays stand for liberty shining on the seven continents. Below her feet is a broken chain. It shows that we are free. When 911 happened she comforted the people of the United States.
     That has inspired me to do more research on 911.

Readers Response of Catching Fire

     Today my reading was about  when Katniss just got back from the Games. She is hunting for Gales family because gale works in the mines. She does not have to work for her family because they are ritch because she won the games.

What I did today

Today I watched the BrainPOP and got 9/10 on the test.

Katniss

I think that katniss is ready to fight. One reason is that she is strategies. Also she thinks that she is ready because she has been hunting before. In chapter 7 the Gamemakers  don't pay attention to her so she shoots the apple out of the pigs mouth to show them that she is ready. I cant wait to see the movie.
